The man who broke into Miley Cyrus' house in December last year and stole several items that belonged to her and her brother has been sentenced to two years in prison, it has been reported.
Rusty Edward Sellner, 22, appeared in court after pleading no contest on February 11 to first-degree residential burglary for breaking into the Wrecking Ball hitmaker's house on December 16 2014.
Sellner was arrested by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department on January 5th.
Superior Court Judge Alan Schneider reportedly gave Sellner credit for the 270 days that he has already served, but a new hearing will be held later to see how long he will have to stay behind bars.
Miley has been a target on several occasions by thieves, she was burgled on May 30 last year when thieves sped off in her Maseratie Quattroporte along with a stash of her jewellery.
The pop star was also robbed the day before turning 21.
According to the District Attorney, Sellner has two prior convictions in Ventura County for burglarly as well as evading arrest.
He could have faced the maximum sentence of up to seven years and eight months if he had been found guilty of all the charges that were brought against him.
