A teacher is facing up to 45 years behind bars after pleading guilty to having sex with three boys at the school where she worked.
Brianne Altice, 35, kissed the students - one of whom was aged 16 and the others both 17 - in her Davis High School English classroom, before going on to have sex with them at parks and in her car.
She accepted a plea deal to admit to three counts of second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse on Wednesday, in exchange for prosecutors dismissing 11 other counts, including rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and sex with a minor, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
"What changed things was the judge's ruling that each case should be heard separately and each case would be considered on its own merits without reference to the other cases," defense attorney Ed Brass told FOX 13.
She will be sentenced on May 28 and faces between three and 45 years in prison.
Families of two of the victims have filed civil lawsuits against the school district, one of which states that a “running joke” at the school was: "Who is Ms Altice sleeping with now?"
One of the victims testified in a previous hearing that he considered the teacher to be his girlfriend, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
The student, now 18, also said she had sex with him AFTER her arrest, while he indicated that he was "unhappy" to testify against her.
"It's ridiculous," he said. "She doesn't deserve to be here."
Authorities said Altice sent the boy a text message with a photograph of her breasts in June 2014.
Ms Altice, who was married at the time of the offences, has spent time in jail, lost her job and suffered the breakdown of her marriage.
Prosecutors had alleged that the offences took place from November 2013 onwards.
