A British man has bled to death on a smashed shop mirror in Thailand after an apparent row with a woman.
Iain Mackay was on holiday in the resort of Hua Hin in the south east Asia country when he is thought to have been wounded by a smashed mirror in a shop.
According to police, the 40-year-old, from Stornoway in Scotland, died on Friday but the exact circumstances of his death are still under investigation.
Friends of Mr Mackay, who worked for a seismic research company, claim the seaman had clashed with a girl and another man at a bar.
According to the Press and Journal, some of the tragic Scotsman’s friends said he was angry that the woman, thought to be a girlfriend, was talking to another man and the three of them got into an argument.
A short while later, Mr Mackay was in another shop when he was cut by shards of a smashed mirror.
Although paramedics arrived soon after the incident, Mr Mackay died a short while later in hospital.
Police in Hua Hin told the Press and Journal that no crime had been committed.
