Swarm Of Bees Sting Farmer To Death

Swarm Of Bees Sting Farmer To Death

A Texan farmer has been stung to death by hundreds of bees.
Rogerio Zuniga, a 54-year-old third generation farmer in the small community of Lozano, San Benito, was ploughing a field in his tractor when he suddenly hit an irrigation pipe filled with bees.

“He got off the tractor and ran and apparently they caught up to him and he collapsed, and they stung his body to death,” his sister Lisa Zuniga told Valleycentral.com.
Family members ran over to help the “loving and caring” farmer but he died from his gruesome injuries.
"He had gaping wounds, the bees shredded him basically. It was horrible," Lisa Zuniga said.
Now the authorities are wiping out the killer bees to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Ms Zungia added: "We urge the county to be vigilant and as long as they are responsive to the cries of our community that these bees exist and they are very dangerous to our children and to our loved ones."
She added: "We'd like for people to carry the legacy of loving each other and caring for each other when we need it, which is what he lived by and we'd like for him to be remembered that way."
