Rapper Afroman has reportedly been arrested after punching a female fan on stage during a concert.
The performer, known for his hit Because I Got High, was playing a guitar solo on stage in Biloxi, Mississippi, on Tuesday night when a woman appeared from behind and started to dance with him.
In this shocking video, the 40-year-old rapper suddenly turns around and punches her in the face, slamming her to the ground.
The Grammy-nominated musician's representative told Billboard magazine in a statement that the star had an "involuntary reflex reaction" and was surprised by the person onstage. He also blamed a lack of the security at the venue.
The woman was reportedly left bleeding and crying and witnesses claimed Afroman continued to play until the lights came on and music stopped.
TMZ reports police hauled the musician, real name Joseph Edgar Foreman, off the stage and he was booked with assault, later being released after paying a $330 bond.
The statement read: "This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space.
"It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces."
