Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel were the big winners at the 2015 Oscars - and Eddie Redmayne claimed one of the big four acting gongs for Britain.

The 33-year-old won Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, beating Benedict Cumberbatch , Steve Carrell, Bradley Cooper and Michael Keaton.


Best actress went to Julianne Moore for Still Alice, making it a repeat of the Golden Globes awards in both categories.

Birdman picked up four awards, including three of the major ones, while The Grand Budapest Hotel scored four as well. Whiplash won three
