Mum Saves Daughter From Jaws Of Crocodile

Mum Saves Daughter From Jaws Of Crocodile
A protective mother saved her teenage daughter from the gaping jaws of a crocodileafter repeatedly beating it with a bat in a gruelling 10-minute battle.

Divali Vankar was reportedly busy washing clothes in the Vishwamitri River in India yesterday when a crocodile grabbed her daughter, Kanta Vankar's leg.
According to the Times of India, the snarling reptile began pulling the 19-year-old into the river when Divali's protective instinct kicked in.
A forest department official told the Indian newspaper how the woman immediately struck back, hitting the beast with a bat used to beat washing.
Eventually, after a 10-minute struggle, the river monster gave up and let go.
Kanta was taken to hospital where she was treated for injuries to her leg. She is now said to be in a stable condition as she recovers after the attack.
Forest officer Ashok Pandya told the Times Of India: "The mother said she saved her daughter by attacking the crocodile.
“We’ve asked the locals to stay away from the river but many still wash clothes in the river water."
A study carried out in January found that there are more than 200 crocodiles in the Vishwamitri River.
