In the video, believed to be recorded in Calais, France, a group of men can be seen crowding around a lorry as four males jump out from a small space at the top of the vehicle.
Two of the men make a run for it, but an unidentified man in a hi-vis jacket grabs the third and drags him to the floor before kicking him in the back.
A security guard stood nearby with a dog on a lead which ferociously barks at the men.
The clip was first posted to Facebook by a Romanian lorry driver on March 22, it is not known precisely when the footage was recorded.
A spokesperson for the port told Channel 4 news the security guard does not work for them.
As of late last year, around 2,500 refugees were thought to be living rough in Calais, with many risking their lives on a daily basis in a bid to get to England by smuggling themselves into trucks or cars.
